R E A D
My stepdaughter will be moving to the librarian for her school this fall. She is very excited about this opportunity. I created these words based on this Pinterest example from Money Saving Sisters.
I'm using the 3D letters from Hobby Lobby, gesso, Mod Podge, Archival Ink and several different papers from dictionaries, children's books, textbooks and a map. I think I got the "D" upside down in that photo as I covered both back and front. I wanted her to be able to use them on a table as well as a wall.
You could do this with any letters to spell whatever you liked.
Here's the process video at YouTube:
For a wide variety of bookpapers, I have kits on my Etsy shop at LovelyLayersArt.
Hope you have a safe and happy holiday weekend!

Photo Bubbles
Usually for days we spend in the mountains, I go for a nature theme. I wanted this spread to focus more on the feelings than the scenery. It was just a really nice day.
The photos are floating along in almost 6" circles. I cut these with my Creative Memories circle cutters which never seem to be an even measurement. I just picked one that worked with the papers. Papers are from Basic Grey Saturday Morning and Simple Stories Carpe Diem. Both collections had the colors I wanted. Carpe Diem had the perfect theme so I used so of the stickers and journaling cards as well.

Anniversary Card using Stampin' Up! Photopolymer
In my last Stampin' Up! order, I bought my first set of their photopolymer stamps or clear stamps as the rest of the crafting community calls them. Not all photopolymers perform the same so I was anxious to see how these work.
They appear to do fine. I think Lawn Fawn makes the best ones as they work with every type of ink perfectly. I've had the least luck with Technique Tuesday and Hero Arts. Stampin' Up! is doing fine so far with all of their inks and Archival Inks. Distress Ink beaded up some but that isn't so unusual.
For this card, I used all Stampin' Up! inks including an old craft or pigment ink. I like how I can mix and match these to get whatever look I want. In this case I wanted flowing flowers like my bouquet. The card was to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary.
I have a process video below:

The Glass is Half Full
My cousin said something one day about my dad always seeing the glass half full. Daddy has had a lot of medical things over the years. It used to be that we could fix his problems. Now he is at an age and with issues where it is more managing than fixing. Still he may get down a bit about a new diagnosis but he always does better than expected and he is always sure he is going to be alright.
I wanted this to be a happy page so I'm using a cheery Echo Park 6x6 paper pad and some cute little birds stamps from Stamin' Up!'s retired set Cheep Talk, always one of my favorites.
If you have been thinking about the Sensational 6x6 Paper Techniques class or any of my other classes, there is no better time than now. This week, classes are 20% off! You'll find the description on the class page. The price is reduced from $20 US to $16 at checkout through Saturday evening 10 p.m. ET. I very seldom have sales so this is a great opportunity.

Two Pager with Die Cut Background
Very seldom do I get everything out for a page and then set it aside but this one I pulled at least somewhat together months ago and kept shuffling it around, never quite getting to it. Finally I wanted to get it done and moved on.
Then I couldn't find the background die cut. Err! At last, I found that in a folder for my Silhouette files and here it is. I created this background so feel free to use it for personal use if you have a Silhouette. A link back here would be appreciated if you post your work on your blog or in a gallery. (There is no preview available but you can download it and then use it in the Silhouette software.)

A few Cards to share
When the new Stampin' Up! catalog arrives, I scour it for stamps and ideas. I haven't been in the market as much in recent years knowing that I had many sets I wasn't using.
A few months ago I pulled several sets from my stash and launched the video series "Use It and Move It" to use my sets one last time for a few cards and then sell them. I sold several sets on my Etsy shop in less than one day! So that gave me space and cash to spend on some new sets. I selected several from the new catalog. My plan is to use these for a few months and do the same thing, move them on out to make room for new things.
While waiting on the new sets to arrive, I used the inspiration of the catalog to create some cards with sets I don't plan to sell and one that I do. These are the cards:

Things are Looking Up
Taking a little break from gelli printing for this process video and dipping into my stash.
My page uses two photos I took at the beach in late April. It was sunny and warm, not that hot, just gorgeous weather. We loved having a relaxing week with few worries. I took a photo of the blue sky and then a selfie of me lying there staring up at the sky.
The page uses some mists over a mask created on the Silhouette from a title offset. I've used some very old Stampin' Up! blue paper, pink ric rac that I can't tell you how long I've had and Studio Calico canvas pieces. Lately I haven't seen anything new from Studio Calico. Are they still producing product? I'd love some new Mister Huey mists.

Taming a Bright Background
I knew the gelli print background I created for these museum photos was bright but didn't realize quite how bright until I began working with it. My options:
Scrap it
Make the photos pop
Or tone it down
See how I worked with the background in this process video:
These photos are from the High Museum of Art in Atlanta which is an excellent museum in a fantastic space.

Watercoloring a Stencil Design
Just a little playing with my art journal in the video below. I had created this stencil design as a left over to use up some ink. I've filled it in with watercolors which ran as I expected under the stencil. It's a pretty casual look.
The Washi tape strips give me a place to add some handwritten journaling.
