I'm addicted to bookpaper for my mixed media projects. I think using a bookpaper background makes a simple design a little more sophisticated. It's a rich layer. For this page, I used 4 papers from different sources and coated them with a little extra color in my Mod Podge.
I cut the bird out of pattern paper and then added more color with markers. For the flowers I stamped them and hand drew the stems and leaves. The clouds are filled in with one of my favorite mediums - white metallic paint. It is cheap and adds so much to a page.
If you are looking for a variety of bookpaper, I have some packs in my Etsy shop - Lovely Layers Art. I do ship internationally, just let me know where and I'll get a cost for you.

Hi,Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI just discovered you while searching Youtube for a DIY tabbed minibook similar to Heidi Swapp's old foto stacker and am enjoying looking at your videos. I would love to have the original dimensions for the Heidi Swapp foto stacker. I believe you said the original used 14" paper, but that is ok because I have a few of those giant Martha Stewart papers I want to finally use..
I would be most appreciative of your help and am including my email addy.
Sincerely,
Jamie Hensley jah252@att.net
I can highly recommend Lisa's book paper pack from her Etsy store. I got 2 packs and LOVE them both!
ReplyDeleteAnd to re-iterate, I love the voice over in your art journaling videos
Beautiful pages Lisa - I love all your hand drawn elements.
Thank you and thank you for the Etsy review!
