I love art journaling!
I was so sure that I couldn't do it.
I started an art journal almost two years ago. I had a plan. I would do pages about fall and the holiday season with lots of typed up journaling to go with them. I lasted about a half dozen pages and that was it.
So much for plans.
I tried a couple of other times and was convinced that my left brained self just could not do this. I would stare at a blank page not sure what to do with it. I'd make a pretty background and not be able to figure out what to put on it or not want to mess it up.
So what happened?
Well, I kept playing with gelli plates so much that I had more than I knew what to do with. So I thought I would give it one more shot.
This time I invested in a nice journal and just told myself I wanted to make pretty pages. I didn't have to add to the background or have a theme.
And it worked. I loved it from the first page!
So here are the pages:

ReplyDeleteI do art journal…but haven't done it for a bit…time to get into it again now that the cold weather is coming and i have more time :)
Your pages are just amazing Lisa! I can't believe this is your first finished art journal!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat made you choose that particular journal and size?
I love how your emotions really come through in your pages! And I think your hand lettering looks great.
I'm so sorry for all the loss in your family recently
Thank you, Gab. I'd like to say I put a lot of thought into selecting the journal size but really it was the only one Michaels had in a soft cover bound journal. Amazon has more sizes. It does work out nicely with my 8x10 gelli plate (coming up in next video.)
