Finally I remembered I had this old cassette tape holder in the basement. Until earlier this year, I had a van that only played cassettes. I guess you could call that retro or cheap as I keep my vehicles for a really long time :-) Anyway, now that I'm sort of in the 21st century - I have a CD player (Yippee) but no i-pod plug-in (I don't own one of those either), I really don't need the cassettes and certainly not their pretty holder originally from the Bombay company (circa 1980's).
So here it is performing a far more important task and holding my distress inks and some other ink pads that don't fit into the Stampin' Up! ink holder.
I know most people don't have a Bombay Company cassette tape holder gathering dust in their basements, but I wanted to share as a repurposing project. What have you repurposed for scrapbook and stamping storage? Where do you keep your distress inks?
Here is a short video of my storage project:

Thanks for visiting today!
Great re-purposing idea! I saw the photo and immediately knew what it was. Guess that really dates me.
ReplyDeleteReally great idea! I did not collect cassette tapes much for music so I was thinking it looked almost like the ink pad holders that SU uses. I think you did a great job. I repurposed an old bathroom hanging medicine cabinet for my distress inks.
ReplyDeleteThat's a clever idea!
DeleteHi Lisa! This is such a great project. I really love when I can repurpose something that I've been storing. Thanks for sharing :D
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Wonder what I can find lurking in my garage? (Other than spiders, that is. Ick!) Really, though, I'm bound to find something that will serve this purpose. Thanks for another inspiration!
ReplyDeleteGreat use of an old item. Good for you.
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for something like this forever.
ReplyDeleteI am even thinking of making something something like this for myself :)
Great storage.
What a great idea! I love getting use of things you already have. I only have a few Distress pads, and I keep them in a basket with my other ink.
